No equipment needed

All you need is a phone or tablet with the free ZWO SeeStar App. The telescope is on La Palma.

How session time is counted: Billing covers total telescope operation time, including slewing, focusing and polar alignment. Your actual imaging time will be shorter. After your session, a 30-minute technical buffer is added on top (sensor cooldown, repositioning) — free of charge and not deducted from your balance. Completely lost nights (clouds, technical failure) do not count against your balance — your hours remain intact.

Your hours are safe: Your booked hours are never displaced by a subscriber. Subscriber priority applies only to time slots that are not yet booked.

What to know beforehand

When do I need to be awake?

In German time, astronomical night at the site starts around 23:45 in summer, and as early as around 20:45 in winter.

Do I need a ZWO account beforehand?

Not for booking. Before your first session, though, you need to be registered in the free SeeStar App with exactly your booking email.

When do I find out my slot?

Immediately: your ticket number and telescope assignment are set as soon as your booking is confirmed, and your preferred date is set right when you book.

How do I operate it?

Via the ZWO SeeStar App: choose a target, start the exposure, watch live stacking in real time. Alignment, focus and tracking are handled automatically by the SeeStar.
