The SeeStar aligns itself automatically and starts live stacking immediately after target selection. Alignment, focus and tracking are fully automatic.

Why La Palma?
A good device only reaches its full potential under a dark sky. The La Palma South site offers a measured SQM value of 21.9+ – meaning: little stray light, high contrast, visible structure in faint nebulae even with short exposures.
By comparison: in German cities the SQM is typically 17–19. The difference is directly visible in the final image.
With ~250 clear nights a year (based on historical weather data), La Palma South is one of the most reliable sites in Europe for ground-based astrophotography.
Honest assessment
The ZWO SeeStar S30 Pro is a consumer-class smart telescope. That means: very accessible, surprisingly capable for bright deep-sky objects – but not a scientific research instrument.
With the FITS add-on you get the individual frames for your own stacking with Siril, PixInsight or APP – including calibration frames of your choice.

A smart telescope like the ZWO SeeStar S30 Pro integrates optics, camera, computer-controlled mount and image processing in one device. There's no eyepiece – you see the result directly as a stacked image on your phone.
Yes. The SeeStar automatically adds up individual short exposures via live stacking. You can expose for as long as your booked time window allows – producing correspondingly deep images. The 9-hour image of the M8 Lagoon Nebula in our gallery shows what's possible.
As an optional add-on: yes. You receive the individual frames as FITS files via download link (valid 72 h) for your own processing in Siril, PixInsight or similar software.
The 30 mm apochromat is aimed at extended emission nebulae, open star clusters, galaxies and bright globular clusters. Planetary imaging (Jupiter, Saturn) is not the main use case for this device due to its short focal length.
